On March 20th, the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Dehydrated Alfalfa (AEFA) celebrated their annual meeting in Zaragoza (Spain). We were invited to participate in the event to summarize the promotion campaign developed in the Chinese market in 2018 and the current situation of the market.
China continues to be an increasing market, with a steadily growing demand for imported alfalfa. After the 2018 campaign, the image and perception of Spanish alfalfa among Chinese farmers and importers have improved, making importers consider it as an appropriate alternative to other forages. During the 2018 campaign, many activities were developed, such as the China Dairy Fair, the Buyers Mission to Spain and the experts’ visit to China to take part in a technical business agenda in Shanghai and participate in Hesitan’s Annual Workshop in Beijing.
For the 2019 campaign, there will be two main objectives. First one is to continue improving the export management and adaptation to the Chinese market. The second objective is to give onsite support to Chinese farmers on how to correctly use Spanish alfalfa. Activities will begin soon.
